Here’s a film I made for the latest CGSociety challenge…the theme was to adapt an ancient myth to steampunk stylings. I chose the myth about the fountain of youth for my topic.

Here’s some exceedingly lovely student CGI animation that also manages to tell a great little story. I’m reminded of Neil Gaiman’s story “Other People” from his excellent collection Fragile Things (to say more would be a spoiler!).

I’ve also included the Making-of video.. Pretty impressive short animation though.

Video: “World War” student animation by Vincent Chai – Boing Boing Gadgets

Yet another video, Although i dont like the Music choice for the credits :)

“World War” is a fun final degree project from Vincent Chai, a student of 3D animation at University of Hertfordshire. It manages to supersede typically derivative transforming robot kung-fu shorts by having a good sense of humor, which gives it all a bit of breathing room. Plus I like the notion of WWII-era vehicles as robots.

SHOWREEL VIDEO PROJECTION MONUMENTALE – MAPPING VIDEO 3D – IMAGES GEANTES By EASYWEB.FR

3D Projections on Buildings; Looks pretty awesome, I’m supprised at the ammount of image/light/whatever you want to call it on the building, i’m sure these were recorded under optimal conditions, but that makes this no less impressive..

Left is a Youtube video, thats rather low quality, check out the link below for a high definition version.

Turning any monitor in to a 3D VR display

Eugh, I dont want to turn into a Splogger… Anyway, Heres another one, Pretty nice optical illusion, I could see that sort of technology in games being very useful in FPS or Motor sport games, Infact, I’d love it in either type.. Being able to use natural movement to control the certain aspects of the character whilst using the hands/feed on the usual controls.. would make for one pretty addictive game IMO

This is one of those things that you just have to see to believe, it is that amazing.  Forget those silly looking 3D glasses that mimic stereoscopic vision, this is way better and I want it on all my computers yesterday!
